Complaints to and Appeals from the Pensions Ombudsman

Our barristers provide advice and advocacy in respect of a wide range of matters relating to the Pensions Ombudsman. We have experience in pursuing and resisting complaints to the Pensions Ombudsman concerning allegations of maladministration and we act on appeals to the Chancery Division of the High Court from decisions of the Pensions Ombudsman, both for the parties involved and on behalf of the Ombudsman.

Notable Cases Include:

Greenwood v. Newman [2004] All E.R. (D) 214 – A successful appeal from the Ombudsman by the employer in a case raising issues of principle as to the ostensible authority of the chairman of the trustees to make an agreement binding on the trustees as a body.
