A steadily growing part of our practices involves advice and representation in claims against financial practitioners. Claims often arise from allegations of poor investment advice or the mis-selling of financial products. Members have experience of claims based on breach of contract, negligence, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty or breach of the statutory duties created by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. We are also happy to advise on complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Chambers is able to draw on its expertise in the field of secured lending in claims requiring knowledge of the law and regulation of mortgage lending. We also have experience of financial regulatory law and of regulatory and disciplinary proceedings in a financial services context.
