Francesca Quint and Tom Dumont selected for Chambers UK Top 100

Francesca and Tom have been included in the list of the top 100 junior barristers practisting at the Bar of England and Wales, which was published by Chambers UK yesterday. The editorial comments as follows: Such is Francesca Quint’s standing in the charities sector that she is regularly asked to advise on reform in this area. She gave advice to the Tumim Committee of the NCVO in 2001 and was a member of NCVO’s Advisory Group on the Reform of Charity Law in 2011-12.


Dunsfold School: Decision of the Charity Tribunal

Mark Mullen represented the successful Appellants before the First-tier Tribunal (Charity) in a case concerning a challenge to a cy-près scheme made by the Charity Commission for a charity holding land and buildings which had been used for the purposes of a school from 1839 until the school’s closure in 2004.

Decision in the Independent Schools Public Benefit Case

The Upper Tribunal (Tax and Chancery Chamber) has today released its decision in R (Independent Schools Council) v The Charity Commission for England and Wales and HM Attorney General v The Charity Commission for England and Wales [2011] UKUT 421 (TCC).
