ADR

The rapid growth in mediation, or alternative dispute resolution (ADR), reflects the importance which the courts now place on it.

Representing a party involved in a mediation demands skills which are markedly different from those required to represent a party in court, and an experienced representative can significantly enhance the prospects of achieving a successful outcome.

We have members of Chambers at all levels of practice who are able to advise solicitors and clients on ADR, whether and when to propose it and the preparation needed for it; and to represent clients in mediations.

We have four members (Peter Crampin QC, Robert Pearce QC, David di Mambro and Simon Williams) who, in addition to representing parties in mediations, are themselves mediators, accredited by the ADR Group, one of the two leading mediation training bodies in the country.

Francesca Quint is also qualified as a mediator, accredited by The Academy of Experts. Francesca advised and assisted the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution in becoming registered as a charity, and helped establish the NCVO-CEDR mediation service for charities.

In this connection we are able to provide or arrange all the facilities required for conducting a mediation.
